How Egypt Started

Egypt started over 8,000 years ago when farmers started planting crops and raising animals in the Nile Valley. By about 3400 BC they began constructing small towns which were then divided into states. The lower and upper countries united and decided to have a king.

Gods and Godesses

The first god was Atum who coughed and spat out Shu, and Teftnut. Shu and Teftnut had 2 children. There was Geb and Nut. Nut and Geb had 4 children which were Osiris, Isis, Seth, and Nephthys. There was a conflict going on between Seth and Osiris since Osiris was a good king Seth got jealous and killed Osiris. Then Osiris became the king of the underworld and Seth became the king of the overworld. Osiris and Isis had a son called Horus and then Horus fought between Seth and Osiris and became king.

Fun Facts!

1. Ancient Egyptions not only mummified people but animals as well.

2. Fly swatters made from giraffe tails were a popular fashion item back in ancient Egypt.

3. The Ancient Egyptions were the first people to have a year consisting of 365 days divided into 12 months. They also invented clocks.

The Nile River Valley Formation

During 3,000 BC the Ancient Egyptions started building in the valley near the Nile River. They chose this spot because of what they thought would be "Infinite Water' river.

The Movement

In 2011 there a huge riot going on in Egypt because the government were getting to overpowered and started killing citizens. A few days ago the government released an acid on their own people that killed many humans.
